Mad Decent does metronomy

British trio Metronomy are on the verge of releasing their second album “Nights Out” and they also have a bunch of other projects in the works. One of them is their involvement with the BAT Project, which is done in collaboration with Bacardi. The first release is “A Thing For Me” by Metronomy who contributed a track with the same name to a film commissioned by Bacardi to coincide with an event in Miami. The film was directed by Nima Nourizadeh (Flight Of The Conchords, Hot Chip, CSS) and it’s accompanied by remixes of the track from Mad Decent, Fontän, Friend and Breakbot.

The Mad Decent peeps gives the original version a shuffling, hazy sound that makes it kind of hard to dance to but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

one of my favorite club tracks recently, 'green light' by john legend and andre 3000 of outkast gets the mstrkrft remix treatment. and although it took me a while to get into it, i think this is the best mstrkrft remix i have heard in a long time.

Our friend The Twelves is no stranger to this site — we’ve posted their remixes of Asobi Seksu, M.I.A., Erlend Øye, NYPC, Kylie, Yelle and Theatre of Disco… and let’s not forget the most popular mixtape we’ve posted in recent times. So yeah, no strangers.

A step away from the remixes, the duo emailed us early last week two original tracks they’ve been shopping around. “When You Talk” and “Works For Me” are both top notch and the quality production we’ve come to expect from the Twelves — total pro work here. The 12’s Luciano qualified the tracks by stating, “the vocals were home-recorded (by us) so its not 100 percent.” But I gotta say I rather enjoy the vox as is and hope they don’t evolve too much from these demos.

A-Trak’s Running Man mix was released this week on iTunes in conjuction with Nike and Fools Gold. I haven’t gotten a chance to listen to it yet, but I was pretty impressed from what I heard on the leaked tracks and the sampler. All of the responses I’ve been hearing from friends have been really positive though, so I look forward to checking out this weekend. Anyways, you may have heard the sampler I posted up here the other day, but I don’t think this track was featured on it, even though it definitely should have. On the official version of Running Man, the track features Fools Gold prodigy Kid Cudi and it’s definitely one my favorite Cudi tracks so far. A-Trak’s pulsing synths on the incredible production make this beat pretty conducive to running or dancing in the club, so do what you will with it. However, it came to my attention a few days ago that the preliminary version of the song featured Lupe Fiasco rather than Cudi. I think they’re both equally good, but I’ll admit I’m a sucker for Cudi’s rapper/sanger style. Anyways, which one do you think is better? C.Y.O.A.

Tittsworth been busy in the studio and now it’s time to unleash his efforts. Plant Music is proud to announce the release of the Tittsworth “12 Steps” album in August 2008. We kick off proceedings with a 12″ on Plant/Money Studies & digital release of “Broke Ass N*gga” (probably one of the funniest vocals since the Humpty Dance) in May. The 12″ contains the original version, and amazing DJ Assault remix (which is now also the actual album version), his instrumental, a dub remix by The Glass and an accapella. Frances newest electro darlings Mintel Rose have recently released their first CD, or EP rather. It’s seven songs of pulsating chords and chugging basslines glazed with the creamiest vocals that only French boys harmonizing can make. Radio Head Live In Dublin

Radiohead debuted a new song called “Super Collider” a few days ago at the Malahide Castle in Dublin. Consequence of Sound and fans on the At Ease message board are speculating that this is a new one that the band has been playing during sound check and that even though Thom Yorke performs by himself on this version,
